Cole Loberg

Cole explores the shallows in his family pond in Amherst.

Cole was born in April of 1982, the first child of Bruce and Cindy Loberg.  Once Cole started walking there was no keeping him inside, he loved to be outdoors. He was always on the go and investigating everything.  As he got older he got involved in fishing which he loved.  When he was able to he started hunting.  Deer, birds whatever he could hunt for.  He was a very successful hunter.  We have a few mounts to prove it.

After Cole graduated from Neenah High School, he decided to go to Fox Valley Technical College before he headed to UW Stevens Point.

After he graduated from FVTC with an Associates Degree in Natural Resources he was accepted at UWSP to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Botany.   He was excited about plants and enjoyed showing others unique things about each one.

For five summers Cole worked for Marshland Transplant Aquatic Nursery.  He learned a lot about wild flowers, ponds, aquatic plants, and running a business.  While working at Marshland, Cole worked with members of the BDMCC on the islands, planting and putting up goose protection.

Unfortunately an auto accident claimed his life in August 2004.  We decided to have Coles’ memorial go to a BDMCC project, because of Cole’s love of nature and his desire to preserve wildlife.

Cole was a happy person and always had a smile on his face.  He had many friends, his phone was always ringing.

Thank you to Cole, Ashley, Cindy, and Bruce for their support of the BDMCC. We are honored and humbled to be able to remember Cole in this way.
