Hiking Trails
Terrell's Island currently offers three
hiking trails for visitors to enjoy. The Club is continually working
to improve them and we are hoping to have a nice map of them made in
the not too distant future.
Trail # 1
The main trail is accessible to everyone
and has a bed of gravel. There is a bench halfway through for you to
sit and enjoy the natural beauty around you. It runs the length of
the property and ends near the Clubhouse with a view of Lake Butte
des Morts.

Trail #2
The second trail is semi-rustic and can
be found at the end of the wooden bridge at the entrance to the
property. Plans are in the works to connect it to the main trail
with a little bridge, but for the moment it ends where the wetlands
take it over. You will need to turn back the way you came if you do
not wish to get wet.

Trail #3
If you like your trails to be extremely
rustic then the third one is for you. The trail winds around the
wetlands and comes out back at the parking lot. The
entrance can be found on the right hand side not too far from the
main entrance. Make sure that you have your hiking boots on for this
one!

Trail #3 is semi wooded. |

The Club is working on a long and scenic
walking trail which leads out into the marsh and will offer a
excellent view of the breakwall enclosure, which can only currently
be seen by boat. The bridge at the front of the property is the
first phase of this project.

Club members worked diligently to plant
desirable grasses along the second hiking trail.
