BDMCC General Meeting Minutes

November 2011

The meeting started at 7:04 p.m. with announcing the DNR and the fire departments are set with knowing the gate combination for access as needed.

Matt Woods is our town board contact for Winneconne who was unable to attend and to let him know if we need anything and he will assist us.

Alice, a longtime supporter passed away and a card was sent.  The Oshkosh Public Museum has a recording of an interview with Frank Kachur in which the club is trying to get a copy to have on file of an interview about the area and club.

The Secretary’s report was read and accepted as such.

The Treasurer’s report was read and it was approved as read.

The floor then opened for nominations for the board of directors.  Don nominated Ken Meier and Ken declined.  The motion was made by Don to close the floor and seconded by Randy M.

Roger told the club the trail council meeting is a great way for the club to be able to get Federal funding and we are to try to get Tim Parsons as the speaker for the annual meeting.  Art noted the breakwall could have a trail created by crushing the top stones to make the breakwall walkable.

New business started with the sponsor gift idea from Ken as a set of three knives, one hunting knife, or a duck decoy.  All were from Jon’s Sport shop.  Pete E. had the idea of getting an aerial photo of the property and the ideas are to be tabled for the board to set.

Pete E. wants to start pushing towards the club to getting a nature center on the property to get more people to use the property and learn the history of the area.  Many ideas were put out and the club is to see if a sub-committee is the best way to get things rolling and keep them going on such a large project.

Roger announced the Springbrook Tap has been remodeled and is under new ownership. Perhaps the club could host a meeting out there.

A new list of the general membership meetings was set in order to try something different to increase attendance.  The meeting for December is at the lion’s club in Butte des Morts, January is at The White House, February is at the lion’s club, March and April (the dinner) are at The Fin N’ Feather in Winneconne, May through September is at Terrell’s Club house.

It was noted an article involving the club was in the Northwestern and Art noted at no vegetation is visible on the islands.  The meeting was called for adjournment first by Pete E. and seconded by Ken at 8:12 p.m.

Minutes submitted by Alexis Wilson, Secretary.
