BDMCC General Meeting Minutes

July 2010

The night started out at 7:37 p.m. with welcoming guest Jim Wolf from the Winneconne educational foundation.  Jim was seeking the club’s help for assisting the foundation to host an Archery event and a banquet at night.  The Archery event will be held at Critter’s with assistance from the DNR on October 16th to teach kids how to shoot and have a fun day.  It will be followed by a banquet to raise funds for money for scholarships, to assist teachers who have special projects that aren’t available due to budget cuts.  Getting kids involved in archery will give those who aren’t interested in standard sports a chance to do something else after school.  Please keep that date open and more details of what is to take place and whom to contact will be announced.

The Secretary’s report was read and accepted.  It was brought up if the stolen gun from the fun run raffle was recovered; it was not.  It was replaced with an equal one.  Also it was asked if the club decided how to handle the issue of possibly having the board of directors’ minutes for all to view.  The board is still reviewing this idea.

Jim read the Treasurer’s report in Bruce’s absence for the months of May and June.  It was accepted as read.

The fun run raffle replaced the stolen gun and all is running smoothly with actual numbers to be determined thus far.

The board of directors had a retreat in June that lasted for about 4 hours out at the property.  The board reviewed the club’s history, the present situation, and the long term future goals to be achieved.  The documents are in the works for all to see.  This will be an on going detailed process to keep the club moving.

Art sent an emailing to the club in his absence saying he is working on the plans to get funding from the DOT from the highway 41 project to assist the club to create a more desirable area for the terns to increase in numbers.

On July 18 a Kayaking group will be traveling the Fox and Wolf River Systems and will have several loading and unloading areas.  The club property is to be one with Art also giving a small presentation to the group.

The question was asked if there was a timeline to use the funds to be received from U.S. Oil.  The company knows this is an ongoing project and will hold the funds for when the club has raised all but the remaining $10,000.

The tractor will not be going to the Technical College due to their time restriction of only two hours a day.  The club found a representative of the brand of tractor in Seymour which will tune up the tractor and get it back to the club in two weeks.

The meeting was called for adjournment first by Russ and seconded by Nile at 8:17 p.m.
