BDMCC General Meeting Minutes

September 2011

The meeting began at 7:06 p.m. with communications from the Lake Flyer, Lake Tides; the donated property by the Ciscel family is officially the clubs property.  We need to now get the property tax exempt.

The secretary’s report was read and accepted as such.

The treasurer’s report announced checking to start with $8,673.34 and ended with $10,591.02 for the month.  The money market started with $20,243.83 and ended with $20,248.38.  It was accepted as such.

Old business started with Jay having no update for the price of a new boat.  The fun run raffle will probably have a profit of about $1,000 after all finances are set.  The committee will meet to discuss the options and feedback to make the next one bigger and better.  Thank you to all those who were involved.

The Winchester Game Bird Swap meet went well.  The amount of people from last year is down.  We made a few dollars from selling items and from raffle ticket sales.  Thanks to everyone that helped.

The Wisconsin DOT started work on the islands last Thursday and they should be done by the end of this week.  Art will forward pictures of the work to the club.  The islands were cut down about 9” under the water level to deter the Pelicans and cormorants to not nest on the islands.  Water vegetation plants were then planted on the islands.  A fish survey reported less than 50 game and pan fish.  Too many Carp are in the area and the water clarity is poor.  Wild celery is less than last year and the Carp barrier is also down for the season.

A financial category was added to the strategic plan to help simplify and make the transaction from one treasurer to the next one smoother and easier.

New business entailed the board nominations to open next month.  The current members up are Bruce, Sharon, and Alexis.  Please get nominated or ask others you see fit to be on the board of directors.

Art made a final note that the old car bodies are now at the waters edge.  Also the next meeting is at Tilly’s Too in Butte des Morts on Monday October 3rd at 7 p.m.  Hot dogs are available from the fun run raffle so please help yourself.

The meeting was called for adjournment first by Pat and seconded by Lowell at 7:42 p.m.

Minutes submitted by Alexis Wilson, Secretary.
