BDMCC General Meeting MinutesSeptember 2009
The meeting kicked off at 7:39p.m. Several communications were available for those who wanted them. The Secretary’s report was read and accepted. The Treasurer's report read and accepted as read. Several larger expenses included money for the land survey, for the raffle tickets, and for membership renewal items. Old business started with the business of the entrance sign is now in the possession of the club. Next the club needs to decide where to permanently place the sign for display. Some of those members present wanted to wait until the land acquisition went through, others wanted the sign to be installed right away. After much discussion the sign will be placed by the two existing signs by the parking lot. A couple of individuals were to be contacted to see how much it will cost for them to install the sign. Next was on to the letters for the donations for the land acquisition. They will be set to go out this week. Don announced that the Pheasants Forever were going to donate $2,000. Pete said the food, bathrooms, DJ, grill, gift certificates, and advertising are set for the Saturday picnic for the raffles drawing. Tom was to square away the beverages. Setup was set for the Friday before from 5-7p.m. and then to all meet Saturday about 10a.m. to get everything ready by the start time of 1:00p.m. Tom said the raffles are doing well and work assignments will be set the day of as the sign-up sheet was currently being passed around. Tom also said he has the gift certificates for those who worked the May dinner but did not have them with him. On to new business, with Jim saying that a water level management team is set to form and evaluate the water fluctuations and report them to the core of engineers and the DNR. The study will be of the Winnebago system and area clubs are being asked to take part. It would be good for the club to be part of the study as it will give us an insight was to what is going on. The By-laws were changed to reflect the new required date for the membership renewal fees. Bruce said he and Art need to meet to discuss the plans for the islands and decide when to fence the islands off. The meeting for October was changed to start at 6:30 p.m. since the Packers play on Monday night. The meeting was called for adjournment first by Randy at 8:45 and seconded by Ken.
