Wetlands Acquisition Successful!

The Club is happy to announce that we have completed the purchase of 18 additional acres of wetlands. This brings the total acreage of  the Terrell’s Island Wetland Restoration Area to 1,201.

With the help of generous donors and a grant from the WDNR we raised $245,000 of the $300,000 that we needed. With all of the support we received we felt that it was better to move forward with what we had than to lose this once in a lifetime opportunity, and so the decision was made to secure a loan for the remaining $55,000.

In this way we are able to continue our fundraising efforts without losing any of the funds that were already pledged.  Your contributions towards this effort are as important as ever! You can help to preserve these wetlands by donating to the Club today. You may even specify that your donation be used only to retire the debt on these wetlands.

Thank you once again to everyone who donated and worked diligently on our fundraising endeavors throughout this last year!

This purchase allows us unrestricted access to the breakwall and the mouth of the Fox River and is invaluable in our efforts to repair the area's wetlands. It also opens up the possibility of a nature education center and a 4 mile looping hiking trail out along the breakwall in the future.

There are many ways that you can help us retire this debt. If you are interested in how you can get involved, or if you have fundraising ideas, please email us at info@bdmcc.org
