The featured speaker will be Shannon Davis-Foust, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer of the UW-Oshkosh Biology & Environmental Studies Program. Her presentation is titled "Why we love Terrell's Island"

The public is encouraged to attend!

Come out to Terrell's Island Clubhouse for the Fall Membership Meeting. We will provide brats and beverages to enjoy while taking in the beautiful scenery of the property. 

F.N. Fun Run Endurance Event at Terrell's Island: The Circle is Real

Another year another F.N. Fun Run Endurance event at Terrell's Island: The Circle is Real.  If you haven't been to this event or Terrell's Island, what are you waiting for? This is an awesome event for an FN ton of reasons.  For example, its a PERFECT last long training run for the Fox Cities 1/2 or Full Marathon!  Use us (we like it) to see if you can make your time or if you need a little more training.  It's a great event to see how far you can run in 2, 4, or 6 hours.  Have a goal and try to reach it. There will be Live Music at the after party this year!  (Maybe we can get them to play Round and Round by Ratt?) You will meet new people and we will give you an FNFR treatment like only we can do. (Not sure what that means exactly but we like to run, have fun and have a few afterwards) 

This year we are not allowing pacers. There are only so many people we can have on the island so we need to try to make sure there is enough room for the participants.

The course is a 3.7 mile loop and is VERY flat. The vast majority of the loop has water on both sides of you and makes for some great views of Little Lake Butte Des Morts. We will have 2 aid stations along the course so you are never far from aid.

Check us out and sign up for the 2 hour, 4 hour or 6 hour run. The runs will stagger in start times and we have talked to the town and they have agreed to sound the noon sirens to signal the end of the race.  ;-) 

The 6 hour run starts at 6am

The 4 hour run starts at 8am

The 2 hour run starts at 10am

EVERYONE ends with the noon siren! The after Party will start just after the run with plenty of food for everyone! We will provide a keg of beer at the end also!  

After the race we will have our usual F.N. Fun Run after party with food and awards.  Join us if you can, be sad if you can't and feel regret if you just don't.  Either way at the FNFR Endurance Run at Terrell's Island, The Circle is Real...

The featured speaker will be Dr. Teri Shors of the UW-Oshkosh Biology Department who will present on the snowy owl, their recent spike in population in the area, and the pressure they have experienced with human contact.

Your help is needed! Fall clean-up day at Terrell's Island on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. Trees need trimming, trails need leveling...lots to do! Please help us preserve our island for all to enjoy. See you there!

About This Activity

We finally did it!  F.N. Fun Run is finally putting an event together.  Well, something besides your favorite one Friday a month event that is.  This one will be a paid event with proceeds going to the Butte des Morts Conservation Club (BDMCC) to help out with preservation and upkeep. If you have been to an F.N. Fun Run, you know that we have two main goals.  We want to run and we want to have fun. Pretty simple right? (says the guys that run all the time) Here is what you are going to do, choose 2 Hours, 4 Hours or 6 Hours to accumulate as many miles as you wish around beautiful Terrell’s island! This is a great event to push your limits or come and complete your first half or full marathon! Worried?  Think about this, if you walk the loop twice you will be around the 2 hour mark. Doesn't sound so bad now, does it? 

The loop is approximately 3.7 miles long and will have 2-3 fully stocked aid stations, so you are never far from food/water or bathroom! This is a green event so you will need to bring and carry your own water bottle. We will be happy to fill it for you at the aid stations.

Those of you that know how we roll may be wondering how we are going to have an epic after party with a 2,4 and 6 hour run.  Good news for you, the after party is still going to be a blast because we will stagger the starts so that everyone can hang out together afterwards!!  I know, pretty exciting right!  Here is the deal:

Start Time:    6 hour (or relay) participants will start at 6am

                      4 hour participants will start at 8am

                      2 hour participants will start at 10am

Everyone will end at noon for an epic after race party at a near by bar. Your entry will include 2 free beers or sodas.

Due to limited parking we will offer a shuttle service to and from the after party location. 

BDMCC is our charity sponsor! They have on going costs involved with upkeep and we are excited to help raise money for them! We are also excited to share their beautiful island with you!

Awards: 
ALL runners receive a technical dry-wicking T-shirt and medals. We will have awards for the top finishers for each timed group.

T-shirts only guaranteed if signed up before July 27th.

Meet at the Terrell's Island parking lot. The meeting will take place on the BDMCC pontoon boat!

Please meet in the main parking lot. We will be having the meeting on the pontoon boat!

Please meet at the Wiouwash Trail parking lot just off of Westwind Road west of Butte des Morts Drive. All supplies will be provided.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Club's Pontoon boat. We need to get the boat water ready and get it moved to the dock inside the breakwall.

Your help is really appreciated.

Please meet at either end of the Sunset Bay segment of the Wiouwas Trail--on either Ryf Road or Westwind Road. Volunteers will walk the trail and help pick up garbage. Everyone is welcome!

All supplies will be included.

Our annual Spring Banquet is the BDMCC's biggest fundraiser. Money generated from this event go towards maintaining the Terrell's Island property to conserve the the important wetlands and provide a recreational gem for the public.

Tickets and registration is required for this event, and dinner tickets must be purchased in order participate in the various raffles.

DNR fisheries staff will be at the meeting to discuss recent assessments of the fisheries community within the Terrell’sIsland habitat restoration area.  Staff will also review recent and future management actions aimed at restoring the water quality, habitat, and fishery inside Terrell’s Island. Lastly, preliminary results from a project to evaluate the impact of cormorant predation on the Winnebago System Pool Lakes will be presented.

Pizza will be provided for our guests :)

This meeting was moved up a week because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

We are looking for volunteers to join us on Sunday, October 25th. There is no Packer game this day. We are asking volunteers to meet us a the Community Classroom at 12:00pm. There are several projects that we need help with and all ages are welcome!

The BDMCC is holding the final Wiouwash Trail Cleanup for the season on Tuesday, September 22nd. Volunteers are asked to meet in the Wiouwash Trail parking lot of of Westwind Road in Oshkosh. All cleanup materials will be provided.

This meeting will be held on the second Monday in September as the first Monday (September 7th) is a holiday.

Get your foursome together! The BDMCC is hosting its 2nd Annual Golf Outing Fundraiser on Sunday, August 16th at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne. 

Our August Membership Meeting has been caneceled due to scheduling conflicts. We will see you at our September General Membership Meeting.

Our July Membership Meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6th. General Membership meetings are open to current members of the Club and those interested in joining.

Volunteers are welcome to join us on Saturday, June 20th starting at 8:00am at the Terrell's Island Classroom for a day of work. BDMCC members will be installing new flooring and tackling other projects to improve the classroom building. Lunch will be served. We hope you will join us!

"Explore these nesting islands as you walk along a 3.8-mile breakwall with a member of Lake Butte des Morts Conservation Club. The property, located on the south shore of Lake Butte des Morts near the mouth of the Fox River, consists of cattail marsh and wet meadow. This wetland conservation project was created in 1994 to preserve and restore valuable watershed habitat along the shores of the lake. Nesting birds include terns, pelicans, cormorants, egrets, and herons. Hear about desirable and undesirable nesting species and the restoration efforts from our guide. Dress for the weather, and wear shoes for walking on crushed gravel. Bring binoculars and camera. Mr. Sabai will discuss his underwater plant surveys and a possible cattail project out at Terrell's Island. Please join us for this event! We are always looking for new members so bring a friend!

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by refreshments. This event is open to the public.
