General Meeting Minutes

The General Meeting of the Butte des Morts Conservation Club was called to order at 6:30 PM by Bruce Loberg.
1. Communications
- Winneconne Town reporting is due in November.
2. Property / Trail Updates
- Lift: The lift will be scrapped. Ken Meier will work on this during the winter when he is able to access the lift.
- Thank you to Dave Lux and Brian Freidauer for their help with trail maintenance.
- Dave Lux plans to start a maintenance log to track routine maintenance, including oil changes and other service.
Breakwall Project
- The permit for the temporary seawall has been received.
- The contract with Radtke has been signed for $994,532.02.
- The goal is to finish Section 11 and recap Sections 6–10.
- A $150,000 grant for rock has been approved.
Dog Bite Complaint – August 2, 2026
- A dog bite complaint was received involving a woman with two dogs that were not on leashes. One of the dogs bit another woman’s dog.
- Club security cameras were used to obtain the license plate number of the dog owner.
3. Fundraising
- The Golf Outing is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, 2026.
- October Calendar Raffle tickets are available for sale and purchase.
4. Old Business
- Strategic Plan: The club is seeking leaders to assist with the strategic planning process.
- UW–Oshkosh Grant: Art Techlow will follow up.
- GoFundMe Purpose – Viewing Platform: A quote of $82,500 was received from Radtke for the viewing platform.
5. New Business
- Randy Pointon will bring mounted ducks from Frank Kachur to the schoolhouse at the next meeting.
- Dave Lux will contact Ray’s Sanitation to cancel the portable toilet until further notice due to construction.
- Board members up for election in 2027: Ron Jungwirth, Lawanda Jungwirth, and Ken Meier.
- Schoolhouse Cleanup: Brad Winkler volunteered to complete the needed cleanup.
- Bruce received a proposal from Radtke for trail repairs:
- $41,630 – barge work
- $12,790 – trail work
- $8,525 – additional trail work
Lawanda Jungwirth initially made a motion to approve the $12,790 and $8,525 portions of the trail work and use $41,630 from the Community Foundation Fund for the barge work. Randy Pointon seconded the motion.
Lawanda withdrew the motion until the club can determine the available balance in the Community Foundation Fund. Therefore, no action was taken on the proposal at this meeting.

A motion to adjourn was made by Ken Meier and seconded by Kevin Stowe.
The next General Meeting will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Terrell Island Schoolhouse.
